Traveling with my Grand daughter

We havealways traveled with our children from the time they were born. Don't expect to travel very far if you child is not used to longer trips in the car. Some of the things I have used with my Grand Daughter (Age 5) are we bought her a CD player and headphones so she scould listen to her music and stories on CD. She likes to get out at restops and collect information on sights to see in the area in case we come back to the area. She also likes to follow my driving on a map. I will ask her what direction to take - the red line or blue line on her map. We also play games with her such as find the color green or find some cows or what ever. I refuse to have a DVD player because too many of my friends have them for their kids and it is always a fight when they stop to wait until the movie is over or something. We also talk about the things out side as we are driving. Frequent stops to let her get out and run and pottybreaks.
